After a five year hiatus, Coxsackie-Athens CSD will be hosting the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Columbia and Greene Counties on Friday, May 31st. As we all know too well, cancer does not discriminate. Our school's Hope Club is fundraising because Cancer has affected too many people we love. Please join us on May 31st to celebrate survivors, remember those we've lost, and offer up support to anyone in our community who's been affected by it. If you are willing and able, please consider donating to our cause. Monies raised will sustain critical research and provide services for people trying to cope with their cancer experience. Believe me, every dollar really does count! Thank you for your consideration! https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR?fr_id=108457&pg=personal&px=47486203

EJA students participated in a community service project collecting food items for the Athens Food Pantry. Each week students collected various items. Grade levels competed in a friendly competition to see which grade could collect the most food (based on weight). Overall students collected a total of 648 pounds of food items with first grade coming in first place, grade 3 in 2nd place and 2nd grade coming in 3rd place! Members of the Athens Food Pantry came up and spoke to students about their community service at our December assembly.
