11 High School Students in grades 9-11 performed at the NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival on April 19th and 20th at Kingston High School. Each student spent months practicing and preparing for their solo with Mrs. Edwards. Four students performed a Level VI All-State solo which is the highest level of NYSSMA solo. Junior Amanda Frank earned a perfect score of a 100. Junior Alexia Strom-Warren earned a 98 and an A+ rating. Juniors Chris Mozzillo and Georgia O’Dell earned a 96 and 95 respectively, earning them an A rating. This is incredibly challenging and we congratulate them all! Sophomore James Warren performed a Level V solo and earned a 98 (A+ rating). Juniors Kori Craver and Marisa Rivera, Sophomores Gabby Jollie and Violet Charniga, and Freshmen Reese Vizzie and Natalie Rogers performed Level III and IV solos an earned either an Outstanding Rating (26-28 out of 28) or an Excellent Rating (24-25 out of 28). Congratulations! Mrs. Edwards is incredibly proud of each and every one of her students and how hard they worked to achieve their great scores. They are wonderful musicians and wonderful people.
