This week C-A was officially notified that we would be receiving additional state funding for pre-kindergarten. This results in us being able to open a second pre-K classroom this January on the Athens campus.
If you have already registered you will be contacted to confirm your registration and interest. We will accept new applications for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program for families who reside in the district. A registration form and health certificate can be obtained on the C-A website under the Parents Resources channel bar (click on Registration page ) or at Coxsackie Elementary School, 24 Sunset Blvd, Coxsackie or EJ Arthur Elementary School, 51 Third Street, Athens.
To be eligible for the program, children must live in the district and have turned 4 on or before 12/1/21.
Completed packets should be turned into the district office at 24 Sunset Blvd. Coxsackie.
This is a full day program open to all district students. The classroom will be located at EJ Arthur Elementary School in Athens beginning January 24, 2022.
The district will be able to provide transportation, both ways for the full day session. Parents may choose to drop off and or pick-up their student as well.
If you are interested in your child being part of this program, please complete the registration form and required documentation and return it to either of the elementary school offices. In addition to the registration form, the following is required: copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization record (polio, measles, diphtheria, mumps, rubella, varicella and hepatitis B), two forms of proof of residency, and the health certificate signed by your child’s physician.
Due to limited openings, it may be necessary to randomly select which students will be able to attend the program. Registrations will be accepted in the district office until 9:00 AM on January 7, 2022, at which time a random selection will be held at the district office, if needed. After all slots are filled, the remaining applications will be put on a waiting list in the order of their lottery pick. Any applications received after the due date will be placed on the waiting list by the date of receipt of completed registration.
