After spending 15 years as an integral part of the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District, Dr. Kerry Houlihan is stepping down from her current role as High School Principal. Dr. Houlihan has accepted a leadership role at Questar III BOCES, becoming its Chief School Improvement Officer.

Effective January 10, 2024, recently retired Coxsackie Elementary School Principal, Karen Miller, will become the interim High School Principal until a permanent replacement is selected.

“I would like to thank Dr. Houlihan for her many years of dedicated service to our school district,” C-A Superintendent Randall Squier said. “We wish her the best in this new phase of her career in education.”

Prior to becoming the High School Principal at Coxsackie-Athens CSD, Dr. Houlihan was the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Assessment. She provided leadership for the district through APPR implementation, updated curricular maps as state standards evolved, started a distance learning program, and much more.

One of Dr. Houlihan’s proudest accomplishments is obtaining a grant to bring Pre-Kindergarten to the district.

“I have loved my time at C-A and will always call the district home,” Dr. Houlihan said. “Thank you to all the staff, the students and the community for making me feel so welcomed and supported during my time at C-A.”
