Coxsackie, NY – The Coxsackie-Athens School District is pleased to welcome Nicole Biette as the new principal of Coxsackie Elementary School, having started on July 1, 2024.
Nicole Biette brings over two decades of educational experience to her new role, with a proven track record of leadership and dedication to student success. She holds a Bachelors of Arts from SUNY Cortland in English, Master of Education in English Language Arts from the University of Bridgeport, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of Stony Brook, and is a graduate of the National Urban School Leaders Cohort of 2023 from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Throughout her career, Ms. Biette has held various administrative positions, including Assistant Principal at Schenectady High School and Van Corlaer Elementary School, Cohort Principal at Schenectady High School, and Principal at Mont Pleasant Middle School. Her leadership has been characterized by a commitment to restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and creating inclusive learning environments.

Ms. Biette's educational philosophy centers on the belief that "kids do well when they can," and she is dedicated to setting clear expectations and creating a supportive environment for all students. Her experience implementing Responsive Classroom and Restorative Practices has resulted in improved school culture, reduced disciplinary issues, and increased academic and social-emotional outcomes for students.
